New Features and 80 New Pokemon Coming to Pokemon Go
Lots More Pokémon to Catch in Pokémon Go
Niantic Labs and the team behind Pokémon Go have announced the latest update for the game which will include 80 new Pokémon.
Pokémon discovered in the Johto region in Pokémon Gold and Pokémon Silver are being added to the game along with gender-specific variations of creatures.
A number of other features are also being added to the game later this week including new evolution items that will allow some Pokémon to involve into newer forms found in the Johto region.
Two new berries are being introduced at Pokéstops – a Nanab berry and a Pinap berry. The Nanab berry slows a Pokémon’s movements making it easier to catch while the Pinap berry will double the amount of candy players receive if the next catch attempt is successful.
Pokémon can now react in more ways when you attempt to capture them and there have been changes to the HUD during encounters allowing you to select Poké Balls and berries directly from the encounter screen.
Finally there are more customisation options for your avatar including new hats, shirts, pants and other items.
Pokémon Go was released in July 2016 and quickly became a cultural phenomenon despite receiving mixed critical reviews and suffering from technical problems at launch.
The mobile title based on the popular Nintendo franchise was recently reported to have grossed over $1 billion in revenue.
The game also recently staged a Halloween event to draw players back into the mobile augmented reality game which gave the developer a surge in revenue.
