Ubisoft Unveils Assassin’s Creed Origins Season Pass and DLC

Assassin’s Creed publisher Ubisoft has announced its plans for the Assassin’s Creed Origins season pass and post-launch DLC.

The DLC on offer includes story-based expansions and free content including a horde mode and time-based challenges.

The season pass – also included in the Gold edition of the game – contains two story-based expansions called The Hidden Ones and The Curse of the Pharaohs.

The Hidden Ones will arrive in January next year and follows Bayek after the events of the main game as he becomes involved in a conflict between rebel factions and a Roman force in the Sinai Peninsula and is apparently the next step in the Brotherhood’s story.

The Curse of the Pharaohs will arrive in March next year and delves further into the Egyptian mythology as Bayek is trapped in a nightmare facing off against undead Pharaohs and mythical creatures in a new open-world region. The expansion sounds somewhat like Assassin’s Creed 3‘s Tyranny of King Washington DLC which explored a fantasy vision of America where King Washington was a despotic monarch.

Also included in the season pass are some Helix credits, an exclusive rare weapon called The Calamity Blade as well as the Roman and Centurion packs arriving in November which each include a new outfit for Bayek, a mount and unique weapons.

In addition to the season pass, Ubisoft has revealed some free content available at launch and in the future.

On October 27th players can take snaps of their adventure in a photo mode which includes the ability to see other players photos and can undertake daily quests at the Nomad’s Bazaar to unlock weapons.

The Trial of the Gods offers rewards for beating special Egyptian Gods in timed events, the first of which will be available 15 days from launch.

In early 2018 a horde mode which takes place in the Gladiator’s Arena will be released allowing you to compete with friends to achieve the best score.

Also available in early 2018 is the previously announced Discovery Tour, a historical guide through Ancient Egypt.
