Gwent: The Witcher Card Game was first announced in June 2016 at E3 and a closed beta was released in October 2016 for Windows and Xbox One.
Gwent was a popular component of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and revolves around winning 2 out of 3 rounds against an opponent with the aim being to beat their score which is calculated by the strength of the player’s cards. Different cards have different abilities and factions offering various playstyles.
Meanwhile, a film based on The Last Wish the popular short stories by Andrew Sapkowski, was planned for 2017 although there has been no update on the project’s progress.
