Pokémon G0 Announces Halloween Event
Niantic Labs have announced a new Halloween themed in-game event for Pokémon GO.
From Wednesday, October 26th until Tuesday, November 1st, players will be more likely to see ghost-type, ‘spooky’ Pokémon in global encounters.
The increased encounters apply to Drowzee, Gastly, Gengar, Golbat, Haunter, Hypno and Zubat.
Players will also have the opportunity to earn more Pokémon candy during this period as they explore the world.
Candy allows players to strengthen and evolve their Pokémon.
Every Pokémon caught will earn twice the usual amount – six candies altogether.
In addition, the Professor will give out two candies for every Pokémon transferred to him rather than one and Buddy Pokémon will give out four candies rather than one.
Pokémon Go is a free-to-play mobile AR game on iOS and Android released in July 2016 and has accumulated over 500 million downloads.
The game utilises GPS tracking on a mobile device to allow users to locate, track and catch Pokémon.
The game quickly became a social media phenomenon and continues to be popular with meet-ups and community events organised by fans to catch Pokémon.
Are you still playing Pokémon Go? Will you be looking for spooky Pokémon this Halloween?
