Pokémon Go Announces Water Festival
Pokémon Go Looks to Make a Splash With Water Festival
Niantic Labs, developer of the popular mobile AR game, Pokémon Go has announced the game’s latest event – the Water Festival.
Over on the game’s blog, the developer announced the next event as well as what fans can expect.
The Water Festival will give players increased chances of collecting Pokémon such as Magikarp, Squirtle, Totodile and their various evolved forms for a limited time.
Players may also notice that when exploring areas where water-type Pokémon are more commonly found there is a greater chance you will run into creatures from the Johto region and the rare Lapras will be more common.
The Water Festival – which will also add a new customisation option in the Magikarp hat – will come to a close next week, on March 29th at 1PM PDT.
Pokémon Go has had numerous similar events that increase your chances of encountering certain types of Pokémon. Last October, Niantic Labs introduced a special Halloween event that increase your chance of seeing ghost-type Pokémon.
Last month, the game received a big update including 80 new Pokémon from Pokémon Gold and Silver. Also included in the update were new berries and new customisation options.
