Young Han Solo Casting Shortlist Revealed
Here’s Who Could be Playing a Young Han Solo
It seems Disney may already be looking for an actor to portray a young Han Solo in the upcoming Star Wars Anthology film.
According to Variety, directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller (The LEGO Movie) alongside producer Kathleen Kennedy will test the group of actors with a decision being made in the next few weeks.
Included in the list of a dozen or so actors are: Miles Teller (Fantastic Four), Ansel Elgort (The Fault in Our Stars), Dave Franco (21 Jump Street), Jack Reynor (Transformers: Age of Extinction), Scott Eastwood (Gran Torino), Logan Lerman (The Perks of Being a Wallflower), Emory Cohen (Brooklyn) and Blake Jenner (Glee).
Most of the actors are in the 20-25 age range and the studio has reportedly tested actors as young as 17 and as old as 34, reinforcing the notion that this film will follow Han Solo some time before the events of A New Hope.
Variety speculates the reason for such early testing may be because the studio wants the successful actor to have a cameo appearance in Star Wars: Rogue One which is still shooting and will take place between Episodes III and IV.
The Han Solo spin-off film is scheduled for release on May 25, 2018.
